it started a little earlier okay my name is Sosi and I'm the creator of punka gallery I'm really happy and also honored um to be invited and to have this lecture I created the group show animal City Unleashed here at the foyer um an exhibition we presented two months ago at the project space in pank gallery in Berlin um the group show presents seven Works uh from seven artists here you can see how it looked like um the video is from Aram Bol um yeah I think he's also a family M member of the Cs family and has his uh 10 years anniversary um kill your phone Workshop in the third o um I will talk a bit um about the context and the history of this exhibition and our platform open R um I would like to start with uh what is net art because um that is what I'm coming from and um yeah I don't want to become too um academic and will to try to make it really brief um so net art is an artistic genre which emerged in the broader appearance of the internet it uses the internet as its medium and subject net art is an art form which is also defined by its reflection on net phenomena and their effects on our society our Network society and culture on our perception and communication it's performative and it's also context sensitive I mean it depends on its heart and software context in which the code is interpreted performed therefore you could say it's also site specific and because of the fast deployment Circles of the hard and software it becomes quite fragile and while it's often interactive and participative uh its character is ifir to um but why then a gallery for net art isn't it exhibited at the internet sure yes it is but I founded the gallery the Punker Gallery uh to 2016 at a time where I was quite yeah fed up with internet it seemed to so commercialized controlled and surveilled um and filled with spots interacting only with themselves and therefore I had a feeling I would like to go back to the physical to the local to the community the pker gallery is a project space
in a club the pker club the name derives from the river which is located in front of our doors um it's a small stream um connecting East and West Berlin districts mid panko wedding um a gallery in a club is a perfect location um for net Art Gallery because net art is very much connected to the club culture and special in Berlin so I exper experienced my first work of net artart in a Berlin Club um at the E and net art worked a net art work uh was named uh Club Nets um the beautiful logo here uh on the left side um was designed by Danel flum the artwork uh Club Nets was created by a group of artists and installed in seven clubs in Berlin uh it connected the clubs with the internet and the artist mixed then uh in the chats also some Bots they mix them into the conversation which was in my opinion very prophetic and so I tried with arim Blanc and caran zon two artists from the original group to reconstruct um the work um after we built an ISC app um and got it into the app shops app stores I mean uh we created an augmented reality version um which was more for the gallery space um we used here the old chat protocols um from some backups uh which we pulled from some backups um as the material for the sculpture for this a sculpture um and that was a moment uh where I was really fascinated by this new medium uh for me new medium augmented reality and so we continued our collaboration and we could realize as a parkour with browser based augmented reality sculptures in Berlin mid we placed these sculptures in contexts um where we reflected then with them uh on the history of the area and tamash pal an Hungarian artist um implemented then uh the site specific function so that you had to go to the skyp chat to the place to see it uh you had a map which Loc ated the sculpture and a QR code on the ground um but you couldn't see the sculpture uh only on the on uh yeah you had to move there to see it and we plac these sculptures in context um yeah as I said and here you can see
a fre sculpture which was taken away from the public after the building was privatized so and here we experimented also with the possibilities of web based AR um in this for an example um we created an augmented reality board where you can leave messages and someone later can read or answer them um from this um yeah in 2020 I created then an exhibition with NAD bof and Jeremy Bailey in which we reflected the moment in time uh where everything on the net has become a shop um also and special as an artist you have to sell yourself as a brand and Jeremy Bailey developed for this exhibition the ur. shop uh a shop where every artist can sell their web-based augmented reality sculptures and get 100% Revenue back uh but they have to present themselves with the artwork so the artists literally have to sell themselves by building the shops we realized that there was uh a platform for for artists missing um where they could present their digital browser based augmented reality objects and we thought wouldn't it be great uh if we could build one one which is open to join without selling oneself uh one which could build a community and would focus again on exhibiting and presenting that art in this case I mean browser based augmented reality sculptures um but then 2021 happened and this whole nft boom led to an explosion of platforms for digital artists but that has not stopped our Endeavor and so we developed the platform with Vincent vanan who programmed it and Larissa Vish who did the interface design and on a technical note the um platform uses the model viewer um which works then best in zafari on iOS and Chrome Under Android the batches design we uh uh created to gamey the platform to uh um was done by anal lawence and so I would say this kind of platform was in the end then built from our friends yeah this laugh you could say and um and since the exhibition um this exhibition here we we invited where we was where we were invited um we could Implement into the platform th
e functionality of simultaneity what I described before like the location location based uh function uh by the help from Cesar moan um also an young artist here you can see one of the objects all these artworks are um yeah distributed um in the area but as the starting point uh to before you explore the digital layer which overlays our cities and um in special here um this um uh um you can start it in a foyer in our exhibition and on the platform every Artist as you can see here has also the possibility to uh um create their own profile and uh support with uh further links and infos um as I said yeah you can um yeah I would invite you to visit the exbition at the foer and uh start your Safari there by yourself and I would say thank you for your attention and um we'll let now AA davidov um present her

work hello uh my name is aova and I'm very happy and thankful to be here uh today my work in the exhibition animal City Unleashed with pan gallery and open AR is global mode horsewoman appearing normal too horsewoman appearing normal takes the object of desire and speculation crypto aesthetic to turn it into an image about the ecological and social disasters we are all in that we have set ourselves for extinction and keep programming ourselves in that direction horsewoman appearing normal 2 was specifically made for the chaos communication Congress in Hamburg with imprints of normals from diverse City related objects under the skin of the animal don't know if you can see some of the patterns the skin itself is made with the colors of 3D normals usually used to make the lighting of the object a little backstory one day around 2015 I was with a friend who happen to be a shaman and I was complaining about the state of the world in action on ecological crisis the widespread cruelty and Wars the greed the exploitation industrial farming he looked at me and said brace yourself the worst is still to come and of course he was right 2016 came with the shock of Trump's presidency in the United States the immediate attack on immigrants the dismantling of social programs and the full acceptance of virulence and lies in public affairs somehow after that conversation my drawings of piles of dead animals and bodies ceased and I started seeing different animals atavistic blunt ridiculous absurd but full of strange energy that seemed to pierce into the world through the digital since the start of global mode in 2015 I have increasingly worked with a mixture of human bodies with those of animals Bird's birth the image here in which I give birth to De Birds full of plastic caps is a visceral image of my own inescapable role in eological disaster collapsing the remoteness between our actions and their or my actions and their outcome being undeniably man ulated I want to manipulate bac
k this was perhaps the reason to explore virtual reality away from realism but has a place to take over the subconscious the subconscious and to rehearse or maybe even invent new actions to involve others in these playing grounds that VR can create global mode Narcissus and drown animals was a VR and immersive print installation in which um animals fall from the sky and people hold them in their arms but when they were held by uh the people the animals drag the people underwater and or flying I'm is interested in confounding virtual and physical in this case a print on the floor of a gall making a sight specific but imaginary making it sight specific but imaginary and I'm also interested in the mixed reality of augmented reality which in this case here at the Congress downstairs has a fixed s specific location but not a fixed size and it does not obstruct the passage another work which plays with mixt with the mixture of our bodies with those of animals is global mode play it was made in the strictest lockdown of the pandemic and it is an online interactive and performative piece based on three reimagined meats access uh accessible from any computer and with any webcam getting together but still Anonymous the audience enters the vir space through digital avatars pigs that become geese sinking horsewoman and a black lives matter protester who pushes a police helicopter and makes it bloom for because in New York there are more statues of horses than women the artist Collective Exar Ensemble made a project called make us visible and invited me to participate replacing monuments around the city of New York with ar monuments of women and goddesses I overlight the George Washington's Monument on Union Square with the Mad Cassandra of climate change and the black lives matter protester overpowering the police helicopter I confess at that time I was very naive and um really believed in the success of the black lives matter protests finally Garden for drowning the s uh one o
f my newest work is a mixed reality installation based on four dreams about our descendants addressing extraction both from land and from people massive selfs surveillance and crocodiles guilt Extinction and even adaptation

this is also an interactive piece in which people can keep themselves above the water for a while and their body produce uh the surveillance cameras and satellites that we see in this image oops thank you and I it's thank you it's a pleasure to to give the place to exm thank you hi everybody yeah so this is first time to uh join this Congress and yeah it's impressive it's so so nice it's so cool yeah I love it I love this Vibe here you guys the coolest person uh people in the world I think yeah this is the coolest event I've ever experienced in my life yeah so uh my name is symol from eximo artist team eximo um eximo is a New Media artist Duo um consist of two people me and Y uh today I I just only I I'm here but uh she's over there with our daughter together with hey wave your hands yeah and yeah we started our activity from the internet uh in mid90s uh we only Pro produced net art at the moment uh net art means uh its artwork uh only exist on internet and experiened through browser and later we expanded our activity to actual space uh it can be said that we are the first generation uh to approach real space from the internet uh I think nowadays it's very normal things uh but at the moment it's very rare um then um by by combining the internet and actual space uh our theme have been n down to uh explore the boundary between two worlds um two World means uh for example uh internet and actual space or digital and analog or human orot or a new or old media so um I will introduce some of our works uh here today um this work titled natural process uh which is a huge painting of Google top page in 2003 uh we installed this piece uh in the museum and then put the web come in front of the the paintings and stream that uh image back to the Internet so our aim of this work is uh uh to show the process of the uh bringing digital object uh to actess space and then bring it back to the uh internet digital space uh later uh Google purchased this piece uh and we installed uh thi
s piece to their office this is the picture of that moment yeah this is funny right and next one this piece is titled body pain uh we first painted uh human body and displayed that image on the Monitor and then we paint it outside of the monitor uh a directory on the monitor with the same color so by by painting directly in the monitor uh this is uh how body paint should be uh done today uh since our physical sense extend to the information devices so we so this is a body paint now uh next p uh kiss or dual monitors uh two monitors were placed as they are kissing uh to present our current relationship uh this work was created before the pandemic but uh has gained uh more meaning after uh the pandemic I think and and this work a metabus pet shop uh is an installation that sell butger Pad in cages uh this ironic and playful installation was realized in cooperation with the gallery now here in New York and this work raised ethical question that if it is cruel to have virtual uh beings trapped in the cage I like this picture I think this picture presents something important about our activities yeah it's real dog and but dog for this Con Congress we realized the installation uh in cooperation with pank Gallery uh from barin and we have a installation in the first uh floor uh so please find at that installation uh it's it's near the entrance so then this time this work is expanded to the AR uh you can see Unleashed uh dock in the exhibition Hall uh with your phone so please enjoy it and and also we are also organizing the event uh it is called internet yamii um it is a free market event dealing with internet is item in real space after we started uh this event in 2012 uh from Tokyo uh and made it an open platform it have been spreading to More Than 3 uh 30 uh cities over the past 10 years uh this picture is from first year meeting new uh no Tokyo um I can feel like a similar Vibe between this one and this Congress and Yi yeah so I hope something happen in this future yea
h crossover um okay so I'm going to show some of the item sold in that event uh and to catch a Vibe okay um I think I don't have enough time to I will quickly introduce something so oh yeah snow then snow grow spam mail service you can send us actual spam by poster service G public by G house and talking service she's putting you know act real tag in the people yeah Spotify as collection in casset they they call only the SP ad and then put that in the casset tape and sell it you know dark web tours uh all the P booing this was amazing you know they started all the piece at same time and then you know the you know to the race uh how which one is the fastest you know the bo yeah this is the something you know that event is look like and we have compiled the uh book documenting the decade of this event uh so uh you can get actual copy or free pdf version from the our website and if you have some uh idea to have this book in the public library let me know uh we are happy to donate book it's limited but you know that we are happy to do it okay that's all for today thank you so much thank you for
